The most fun and exciting October event (besides this of course!) 

was HALLOWEEN!  But it was also an excellent month all around 

(if a bit chaotic and exhausting)...

Welcome to the world, Baby Kate!!!

september... right on time!

We kicked off September with a fun visit from Papa Ric - 

we did lots of things like swimming, visiting the Children's Museum 

and the Natick Organic Farm and spending lots of time at the playground.

Then Max & Daddy went on a very special trip
to West Point with Papa & KK!

They all had a fantastic weekend at the Military Academy...

Meanwhile, the girls - Grammie, Jane, and our besties Dana,
Cori, Clara, Baby George (ok he's a boy, we know!)
and I went to Old Lyme for a last beach weekend!

The second half of the month we settled into a 

new weekend routine of soccer for Max and ballet for Jane...

And took care of things like going to the dentist...

So when October arrives (tomorrow!), we can officially 

just wait for Baby #3 to join the party!

looking back at august...

We think August is Summer's best month,

and here's why:

 Lazy days spent with our besties...

(Clara & Jane eating chips)

Day trips to New Hampshire... 

(Max with new friends Henry & Sam Mullen)

 Evening walks in PJs...

The opening of Pinkberry around the corner from our house... 

 Celebrating Alexis' birthday with a pool party...

 Dancing on the driveway...

Old Lyme!

With Uncle BB along for the whole trip!

 (Beach diva...)

 Walks with Papa...

 Making the most of rainy days at the beach...

Spending evenings on the porch...

Doing just about anything with BB...

 Riding the Carousel with Patrick...

 And having our "last night at the beach" dinner at the Cuckoo's Nest...

Then Hurricane Irene came and we were locked up for a day...

but we didn't mind because we were spared any real damage, and Grammie, Papa, KK and BB came to ride out the storm with us.  

We hope you were all as fortunate.

july... on time!

It was an action packed - and local - July!

After our fantastic trip to Martha's Vineyard (we returned on the 3rd),

the fun continued with a visit from the Herman boys

of the greater DC area...

And we spent lots of time Chez Chaffee.

and gorgeous Baby George (born June 29th)...

There was a whole lot of pool time given the awesome

weather we've had this summer...

Max has become quite a little fish...

We went to Southwick's Zoo with the Penns

(Jane loves goats)...

Max and Olivia...

And Jane started ballet!

She just loves it...

Luckily now she has somewhere to wear all of her tutus!

Then Aunt Richelle and Lee came to visit from Houston!

And generally we just did summer stuff like playing outside...

And taking long walks with Scout...
